MELHOR AMIGO is the band of António Pedro Lopes and Gui Garrido formed in in Lisbon in 2011. Together they create pop songs, amidst pianos and guitars, and a voice that sings his heart out in songs about travel, vagabondness, love and crossing our time under panic attacks, a search for lucidity and melancholia. They sing in Portuguese and English, they do originals and cover versions, they’re DYI their songs are HOMEMADE with love and they do so with passion and a desire for more, a desire for a future + Portugal + vibration and + music. Gui Garrido is António Pedro Lopes’ MELHOR AMIGO (best friend) and they’re both performing artists. They met onstage the first time in 2008 for a collaborative show in which they sang songs of The Velvet Underground, Moldy Peaches and Sinéad O’Connor whilst jumping on top of an old piano and stage diving the theater audience. Garrido and Lopes never left each other and the dream of making music prevailed. Today this dream is realized with MELHOR AMIGO ready to share their music with the world through songs, music videos, live performances by collaborating with a multitude of friends in that accomplishment.

Gui Garrido & António Pedro Lopes são ambos artistas do espectáculo, encontraram-se a primeira vez em palco em 2008 para escreverem uma colaboração, qual cabaret de revelações, em que cantavam canções de Velvet Underground, Moldy Peaches e Sinéad O'Connor enquanto saltavam em cima de pianos e faziam stage-divings. Garrido e Lopes nunca mais se largaram e o bicho da canção também não. MELHOR AMIGO fazem canções pop, entre pianos e guitarras, e uma voz de pulmão aberto que canta sobre viagens, errância, amores experimentais e sobre atravessar uma época marcada por uma avalanche de coisas, acontecimentos e ligações, entre ataques de pânico, clarividência e desejos de liberdade. MELHOR AMIGO viram também o lugar para reunir todos os melhores amigos e pô-los ao serviço na instrumentação, artwork e apresentações ao vivo da banda.
